As November rolls in, Limassol welcomes a new art exhibition that highlights the craft of photography. Artist Falak Shawwa will present the exhibition Travels Tales, from November 1 to 10, capturing her adventures across the globe, travelling in 11 countries.
A series of photographs will take over the walls of the 6×6 Centre for Photography next weekend as it welcomes this intimate photography exhibition. “These heartfelt images invite you to wander streets and alleyways, experiencing stories and visions I’ve encountered along the way,” says the artist. “As you enter, please collect a boarding pass to guide you to your designated photograph. Each image, marked with your seat number, serves as an entry point into a new chapter of discovery.”
Shawwa is an experienced photographer who has worked with renowned organisations such as Reuters, Agence France-Presse (AFP) and UNICEF, certified by National Geographic and Gulf Photo Plus in Dubai. Galleries around the world have exhibited her work, including in London, New York, San Francisco, Toronto, Beirut and Cyprus. Through this exhibition, Shawwa says she hopes to share more than just images but “the power of photography to uplift our perspective on life.”
“I invite you to take in the work at your own pace,” she concludes. “Allow each photograph to evoke reflection, emotion and inspiration. Through these visual stories, I hope you will find moments of solace, joy and appreciation for the beauty that surrounds us.”
